Met the lost suitcase at 5 pm

This work explores the relationships between people and commonly found objects. We may take our belongs for granted, and people don’t care about their feelings, is it fair for the objects?

Objects, such as suitcases are created for a certain purpose - traveling. When a suitcase is not used for traveling, it loses its primary function, and it becomes a redundant, dusty, space-occupying item. Imagine the objects in the room can speak. Their existence reminds people of the values and purposes they are given, as well as experiences, memories, motivations, and imaginations.

In this show, one suitcase spoke up. She was dissatisfied with being "unused and not seen", she wanted to fulfill her purposes on her own. She decided to become her own "so-called master" for a while.

This is an event art based on social media and performance. What you could see on 08/10/2021 was a real-time story. A LOST POST, a chat history of the suitcase and its owner, furthermore, constantly updated Instagram posts from the suitcase’s account, were placed in the gallery. At 5 pm the suitcase eventually showed up at the exhibition. The artist tried to find her suitcase, and the entire process was recorded in the form of a vlog.
