This work can be viewed as a standalone piece of music, yet it also aligns with the structure I envisioned during its creation: a conversation/conflict/fusion expressed through the form of a DJ performance. The musical arrangement itself narrates the experiences of growing up as an East Asian queer individual, unfolding memories of home. The narrative traces a journey from childhood dreams and feelings of safety to the resistance born from the gap between oneself and parental expectations. It transitions through evasive, half-hearted responses, finally arriving at a genuine question: can I simply love? In many traditional East Asian families, "love" is a difficult word to openly discuss or express in pure terms. As we grow into our identities, those ingrained criticisms and judgments often surface like a recurring alarm, triggering self-doubt. This piece reflects an internal dialogue of conflicting voices, where consciousness merges, and these voices echo and resonate within the mind.
